1902 VFL Season: Essendon
These are the details of the premiership results of Essendon for the 1902 VFL season. The team finished the regular season in second place, securing a place in the finals series. After defeating Melbourne in a semi final and defeating Fitzroy in the final, Collingwood exercised their right to challenge for the premiership by virtue of having the best (win-loss) record up until and including the final (in addition to the regular season). Essendon were defeated by Collingwood in the challenge final, resulting in becoming the runners-up.
