1924 VFL Season: Essendon
These are the details of the premiership results for Essendon for the 1924 season of the Victorian Football League (currently known as the Australian Football League). The team used Windy Hill as their home ground, playing eight matches there (eight as hosts). The team finished the regular season in first place, securing the minor premiership, and in turn, a place in the finals series. After facing Fitzroy, South Melbourne and Richmond in a round-robin finals series, Essendon finished first. Since Essendon had finished first in both the regular season and the round-robin finals, they won the premiership. Had they only won the minor premiership, they would have been entitled to a right to challenge the winner of the round-robin finals in a grand final.
