1936 TANFL Season: North Hobart

These are the details of the premiership results of North Hobart for the 1936 TANFL season. The team finished the regular season in first place, securing the minor premiership, and in turn, a place in the finals series. After defeating Lefroy in the final, Lefroy exercised their right to challenge for the premiership by virtue of having the most wins in the regular season. This right is typically awarded to the minor premiers. However, a discussion of the rule that took place on 7 September 1936 by the Tasmanian Australian National Football League determined that although North Hobart may be leading on premiership points with fewer wins (due to later rounds being worth more than the earlier ones), it is the team with the most wins (Lefroy) that was entitled to the right. North Hobart defeated Lefroy in the challenge final, winning the premiership.
